@help Trailer went walkabout

There is a small circle clip inside the tongue that needs to be replaced after the break away cable is pulled. It doesn't sound like that happened to him ... guess we will wait for an update.

The clip isn't needed. It's there for two reasons, one to tell if it's been activated, two to make take more tension to actually engage i.e., you don't accidentally engage with little effort exerted on the cable. As long as you reset with the clip on the bottom and that the cable is retracted back into the tongue with the "barrel" back in the hole, and the tongue pulled or pryed forrward, they should be OK. Here is the actual parts if someone needs to replace. I thought about it but repaired the cable myself as you have to disassemble and bleed.

Thanks to ALL who offered assistance... you saved me a ton of time and hassle! I'm tired, so I'll cover specifics later, but... She's home, she's intact and unmarred by the adventure. I have a local trailer guy I'll call tomorrow to rebuild the surge system and replace the safety cables. The tire shop guys think the surge system blew up when it hit the hitch, as there is fluid everywhere and very little resistance on moving the actuator in and out. The safety cables held and did their job, but they got scarred and the trailer side has a little corrosion. Having been through my day today, replacing them "just to be sure" is a small price to pay for the peace of mind in the future.
Below is a shot of the hacked tongue to get me home... lock out key was zip tied and taped in place, wiring spliced to get me home. It worked.

And just because I can... some pics of her safely in her spot! Concrete pad coming soon!

Thanks again everyone! :)

I do love a happy ending.

Nice boat.

Glad to see you got home safely. Those little issues can be fixed and you still have a VERY reliable boat there.

I see it has the factory scupper, might want to look at the scupper thread and order the stainless steel Attwood replacement.

for future reference I checked my 07 mfi trailer and the nut to adjust the latch is either 3/4 or 19mm, both seemed to have the same amount of play
