We just bought a 2019 AR195. This is our first boat. We’ve taken it out about 6x locally. Last week we went to Lake Powell. We returned last night. Our boat is GROSS! I washed it inside and out with our power washer (even with the least powerful head). VERY BAD idea!!!!! It almost completely tore our seat. Is there any product that will help smooth this out? I already ordered Boat Bling vinyl cleaner and conditioner (hoping for any help from those products). The products don’t come in till Friday. Any other products I can order to try and fix this before it gets worse??? Please help!!!!!!!!! See picture of spot below.

I'll let others chime in, but I'm curious as well. I have a similar mark/cut. I was planning on using Aquaseal which is a clear goop. You apply it on, it self levels and cures to a rubber. Completely clear. I use it extensively on whitewater paddling gear to fix neoprene and such. It will definitely work on vinyl hence my plan. But definitely curious if others have better products to also hide the issue, not just prevent it from getting worse.

Nothing will fix that.
The best thing you could do is let it sit in the hot sun.
It will never be perfect but it will get better in time.

I am surprised that a pressure washer would do that.

Do you know how many PSI you were using?

I have pressure washed my 2007 230 seats at 1,800 PSI several times without issue. But if I grabbed my 4,000 PSI gas pressure washer that think will cut concrete!

Theres also liquid vinyl. Being white it would be fairly easy to match. We use an upholstery company locally and small repairs like that are fairly inexpensive. I'm sure on of your local used car dealers know someone that is a pro with it as it's used often to repair small Knicks, cuts, and tears on trade ins.

You will always see the repair if you look super close. Over time in the sun you will see the repaired area even more.

^^that's the DIY version. The guy that shows up to touch up small stuff for us has a whole toolbox full of pigments to color match. I'm betting someone in your are does this work.

Try this website and see if they have a person in your area. I used them to repair 2 of my seats that had split along the seams. Best part is I sent them a picture of what I wanted repaired, they gave me a quote and they come to your house to do the repair. I'm not sure if they that type of fix or not.

Did you have a dog on board? The markings left in the picture look like they come from a dogs toenails.

I agree with Zipper and Bruce......doubt that was caused by the pressure washer unless you were using the 0 degree tip. Even then, I doubt the damage inflicted would have such a random pattern.

Which seat/cushion is that? Anything other than cleaning and conditioning products might make that look worse. If it really bugs you order a new cushion.

Nope we don’t own pets and would NEVER allow any pet on our boat! I watched it happen as I was using the pressure washer. The issue was that I got it to close to the seat to clean off a spot. I immediately stopped when I saw what it was doing.

Definitely the pressure washer. I watched it happen bc I was to close to the seat with it. No pets and wouldn’t allow any on board if we did have them. I did think of ordering a new cushion. This is the one near the glove compartment that is empty below. We store our large tube under it.

I’m sure it wasn’t the psi bc it’s just a cheapy Sams Club pressure washer and I was using the large head (with the least pressure). I was just cleaning the seat waaaay to close and didn’t even think about it until I saw what was happening.

I agree with @zipper. I think this was a repair the previous owner made that your pressure washer washed out.

New 2019 boat. We do allow our dogs on board and have not had any damage, yet. It looked alot like toe nail damage tho.

How many areas are damaged?

Only the one small area pictured. I priced a new cushion today for that spot and it’s $529 ?‍♀️. If I have it repaired it won’t ever look the same so...?‍♀️

It adds charm to the boat. If I was going to order a new one For $500 I would look on you tube first about the repair. It is a boat and stuff will happen to it. Wait a year if that is the only thing not perfect on your boat order it. You do sound like someone to buy a used car from, it’s nice when it’s 5 years old and nicer then when it left the showroom. Enjoy your new boat!

Be happy it’s just one cushion.
Replace it and be done with this problem.
Live and learn.

Btw, price it at boats.net not your local stealership.
