Not easier to put a plug from outside ?

Don’t have a Scarab, but would image that either of the below styles would work. Just search for “hose pinch of pliers”. I believe the first option only has metal at the pivot point, making them less susceptible to rust if you boat near salt water/air.

Thanks, I need to work in the pipe schematic:
How are we filling the water on the exhaust, for cooling or just noise absorption ?
I will work on it soon :)

Great info. There was a post on this subject a month or so back so I bought two clamps to keep in the boat. I never understood how the water forced its way into the engine but did find the information on the service manual and the engine designers are smarter than I so I believe.

The service manual for my 2017 shows a different reference picture so I have attached for those who may have the same 150hp engine. 150hp tow hose pinch.png

Same as flushing the exhaust: never flush without starting the motor...
When you tow a boat, water could go back from the exhaust :(

Spring will be here in one month ;), In the same circuit : How do you know if the
exhaust cooling circuit is working (we have no jet as some Jetski or outboard) ?
Any fluid diagram for the Scarab 165 ?

Should be the picture shown a few posts back

I am looking a fluid diagram, not a generic drawing ...
