This is actually a planned event at certain times of the year in certain places like now with the spring king tides. Everyone knows that in a few hours the tide will roll back in and float the boats.
Boating at the GA barrier islands, I would see people beach their boats and go explore only to come back and it is sitting on the beach. The tide is every 8 hours or so. That can make for a long day.
