I am new to this forum. I'm thinking about buying a Yamaha FSH190. I live in coastal Connecticut. I would put the boat in for the season. How well will this boat hold up if docked at a marina for the season. Will it need bottom paint? How will the jet drive hold up? I've never owned a jet boat.
Thanks!

With is open cooling system, I'd say you're better off with a dedicated center console and outboard. You can paint the bottom, raise the outboard out of the water and have peace of mind. WIth a Yamaha, you'll have to try to flush with Salt-Away of another corrosion reduction product and then leave all the aluminum components soaking in the salt water. In Florida we have a center console with a Yamaha outboard which we still flush regularly after each ride. In GA we have a Yamaha jetboat that we use exclusively our fresh water lake. There are lots of owners who use their boats in salt water, but them flush them and or lift them out. Leaving it in for an entire season? I think thats the problem.

I think you are right. Thank you !!!!
better to get an outboard that can tilt up when not in use. —- Just loves the way this Yamaha looks though!
