I want to go to Bimini 2017

December water is typically way too rough. You should plan to fly if you want to go in December.

I meant decided dates for the Bimini Fling of 2017 by December so we could have my wife's date submitted to be able to attend.

I live here in South Floroda I know how rough the water is. It sucks.

Count me in for 2017. Would like to have some idea of the costs associated with going and staying there.

If you read the posts on the Bimini Fling 2016 thread they have all the room rates from this year listed. It depends on people in your party where you are coming from and fuel usage. Really depends on each own person.

How far are you towing?

4 people = 1000ish per person 5 nights \2015
6 people = 800ish per person 6 nights \2016

These were roughly our cost towing 1600ish miles round trip.

From your experience what you estimate fuel is over there? Of course it's a dynamic price point but is it comparable to over here $3-5/gal?

$5-$8 per gallon depending on what the market is doing on fuel.

I wish we could decides dates in December as that is when my better half has to have all time off request in by end of December. Guess we will pick a week and see what happens.

I always have the same issue my vacation weeks need to be in by January 1st I usually just pick a week in June and if it works out great if not I try to change it right after dates are announced.

$4.50 this year, $6 in 2014.

What the others have said is completely correct. What I have found is that if you add about $2.50 to the price of gas in the states, unless you live in California then add $1.50, that will be pretty close to the price in Bimini or anywhere in the Bahamas.

Thanks guys.

I talked to Travelers insurance and found out that they do NOT cover trips out of the US national waters... unless your boat is 30'minimum.
Soooo - I'll be getting a Regal 35ft Sport!!!!! (I wish :()

I'll have to swap over to Boat US when everything else is given a green light for the 2017 trip. They quoted me $875/yr with a $150 "booster" to leave national waters.
(FYI - they cover as far as Turks and Caicos with that same booster)

Crap. I have travelers also.

I'll give travelers a call. I told them I would be taking the boat offshore and they were good with that. Will report back when I know something.

Our family is new to Yamaha and jetboaters.net but we are seriously considering this trip for '17. I originally stumbled across this video and it gave me the itch

The amount of time some of the Bimini veterans have put into preparing and writes ups is amazing. Thank you all. Looking forward to meeting some of you in the future.

If you are in the Austin, TX area hit us up!
