I wanted to know how often I should change my impeller. And is their any aftermarket ones that you recommend over the stock one?

I think it can really vary on your boating conditions. I just sold my 2014 and the impeller was still in really great shape, but I never beached or ran the engine in shallow waters. If you run through shallow waters or keep the engine running while pulling up to shore, you are definitely going to shorten the impeller life by sucking rocks and debris. You should be able to get a fairly good visual just by looking through the jet nozel and the intake grate. If the edges aren't nice and smooth, it will really start to hurt your performance and cause cavitation.
