Anyone mount an iPad mini for Marine Navigation use on a Yamaha?
 
Here are pics of the two ram mounts I have. The orange part is a float from life proof. Both are spring loaded and have three parts total, the mount base/ball, a connecting rod and the iPad mini holder itself. I use navionics and like it but is has to be bought on an annual subscription basis and unless your iPad mini is cellular enabled and you have an account with you carrier you have to download the maps from home. One. Alternative maybe to use your phone as a hotspot for your mini to work off of. Not sure how/if gps real time tracking will work if your iPad is WiFi only.

x2 on the RAM mount. The price is not much higher than an Amazon special and very secure.
