My stock JBL stereo is stuck on the radio with the inability to switch modes, change stations or power off. Is this unit shot? I've done resets and disconnected the power to no avail. Its on a 2011 SX240.

You might need to clean the faceplate connections if you have a removable face.

If you have a remote control, unplug it at the rear of the HU.

So I unplugged the remote and got full control back. But... no sound now. I reset it, unplugged the power and all connectors and no joy on any sound. Any thoughts?

My Aux port stopped working. When I pulled it out I found that rusty sludge was flowing out of the case. I switched to a Fusion head unit and never looked back. Those JBLs never should have been in boats.

My 2011 sx240's jbl 18.3 head unit just did the same thing I troubleshooted it for a day and just junked it and got a new head unit.

JBL HU = JUNK. go buy something else, mine gave me chit right from the start.

The first year I owned our boat it was in the shop so many times. it ended up having three new JBL radios, 2 new wiring harnesses and 3 rear remotes. I finally got fed up with it went out and bought a Clarion M303. Ever since that's been put in no problems at all. All that JBL is good for is a paperweight

replaced old jbl with non working tuner with a kenwood kmr-d765-bt and a new remote kenwood kca-rc55mr both work nicely now hopefully will in years to come.0826161514.jpg 0826160930.jpg

that is exactly what i have. same rear remote. Love it

the kenwood installed easily in the single din factory location. the remote location had to be re-holesawed leaving one of the factory screw holes to be patched.
