JetBoaters.net Bimini Fling July 9th to 14th 2018

As in June it is recommended that you take toilet paper and paper towels.
We received a message that the check in staff would like to buy toilet paper and paper towels from anyone that has room to carry extra.
We left a case in 8F lol

Looking at the weather forecast @Bruce thinks the Sapona and Turtle Rocks should be sheltered from the waves on Tuesday and Wednesday. Three Sisters should be sheltered tomorrow and Monday.

How much are they offering to pay per square??

Please post tracker links if you have them and are crossing Sunday.

How much are they offering to pay per square??

@Bruce asked me to pass on this information...

I imagine that people who are about to be wiping with their hands would pay well. But, the office likely pays retail.

Just checked wind finder, all groups should expect great crossing conditions. From my experience they randomly up and down wind numbers when there is little wind. Customs is a mess with two ships now bringing supplies. We are still trying clear our cleaning stuff shipped three weeks ago!

The over heat boat talked to dealer felt confident and beat us there!
I think we stopped 3 times for seaweed?
I know i had to restart an engine 3 times because i was jumping the waves.
Just choppy enough to need a bit extra throttle for my little boat but any second it would flatten out i would speed up quick as it got bite. I think i got scolded to not pass once and to speed up once when i ended up trailing to stay out of our own wakes.
In the end the bimini that broke on the drive down broke the same exact way on the water. I had prepared mentally and it didn't take much to dismantle what was left of it. I stood up and caught it as the front mount came loose. I said screw it cuz i didn't want to worry about it anymore. A simple drill and locking pin would work great over the allen head pinch the tube thing aerial designed.
Don't have power tools with so no bimini in bimini.
I knew @swatski screwed me
Glad you got it fixed. Sounds like you guys hit amazing waters - so happy for you, it makes for a great experience especially for the wives and kids!
No way that would have worked last year, lol, in those conditions that bimini would have turned into a paraglide.

If any of you guys run into a tp or paper towel issues the store at the marina shops at resort world had plenty even after the sands was out the day we arrived this was a week ago but just guessing they probably still have some. Good luck to those crossing tomorrow based on everything I see you guys appear to be blessed with fantastic crossing conditions it should be very similar to what the group today got. The short period won’t matter much on 1.5 ft waves if that holds hoping it does for you guys and you enjoy your trip.

nah I’m sure the first 20 minute stop was for him to wrestle a sea monster and right now him and Zeus are exchanging throwing lightening bolts at each other and we are only a few miles in.
Brian said he jumped in the water 4 times to pull the weeds off peoples intakes. In open ocean. I seriously love him lol

We've finally gotten parked at harbor town and settled into our room in bahai mar. Still planning on 5:30 meeting, although complimentary breakfast is at seven :) Weather looks nice for a good cross

We left a case in 8F lol
We left half a case in 14B. Along with some beer for one lucky individual to compensate for the rank ass smell we left them in the broken dishwasher/garbage disposal. :winkingthumbsup"

Sunday’s forecast has improved greatly. Hopefully that is correct and it will be a great crossing. Be careful about the seaweed. That may be the greatest adversary to the crossing.

I hope @AbuAyd brought extra fuel or that someone is still with him he is probably going to be tight on what in his regular tank.

Glastron made it over :) has a 49 gallons tank. I refueled in Bimini and it took 30 gallons. So I arrived with 19 gallons still in the tank. With several stops. I caused 1 stop because of sucking Seaweeds. Betik jumped in the water like a hero and helped clean it out. I can’t thank him enough!!!! That encouraged my college bound son to do the same thing on the several later stops we had. Every chance we got, we jumped in the water and took some seaweeds off. It was EVERYWHERE and very hard to avoid sometimes.

@MrMoose Water Man is driving my boat across and leading the group with Betik on board. Who would of ever thought??? Hahaha!

I was on his port side right behind him. I think he would say I was following too close :) sorry about that. I told him after we got here how surprised I was while it was rough ride for the Glastron I would watch your boat and it looked like it was rocking in slow motion. Already thinking about upgrading for future trips :)

I have a feeling it is not just the Yamaha vs Glastron issue. I am sure it has a lot to do with the captain’s experience as well :)

Glad yall made it across safely. Really wanted to go. But there's always next year.
