  • Guest, we are pleased to announce that Hydrophase Ridesteady is offering an extra $100 off for JETBOATERS.NET members on any Ridesteady for Yamaha Speed Control system purchased through March 7th, 2025. Ridesteady is a speed control system (“cruise control”) that uses GPS satellites or engine RPM to keep your boat at the set speed you choose. On twin engine boats, it will also automatically synchronize your engines.

Lateral Thrust Enhancer Questions

Be sure you can hear a difference in the engine sync before bothering with rigging. The tachometers can be inaccurate compared to actual verified by YDS. You may also consider swapping left and right tachs to prove an inaccuracy follows. Can you also see the rpm on the screen or just the gauges?

Both the tach and the Yamaha system show a difference in RPM. I may throw some tape on the engine and measure it as well. They do sound different, but it is only a couple hundred RPM. I am just OCD, so the fact that the throttles don't manually line up with each other at the same RPM gets under my skin.

Good luck getting the engines synced with throttles side by side. Mine vary through the range so when matched at mid range it was off at full throttle. Now I rely on the Hydrophase - which works well, and maintains my sanity!
