After three starters in three years with the same motor I found out it wasn’t the starter. It was the solenoid the whole time. Symptoms were slow turning over the motor and sometimes just clicking. I assumed because it was clicking the solenoid was working but after buying another starter and it only cranked once before quitting I pulled out the volt meter and voilà. Fast starting for the first time in years. Now I have two extra starters. And I already had extra solenoids. Now I just need the wind to slow down below 30 mph.
