Hello, All! I've just joined the Scarab owners' club with a 2014 195, pics for your enjoyment below. I'll be doing a lot of reading here before I start asking the dumb questions (I'll still ask) and looking forward to learning as much as I can about this new-to-me jet boat.




We're in south-central WI in lake country, so we're looking forward to Memorial Day weekend and the start of Summer. Also looking forward to get to know everyone here a little better.

What type of engines do you have installed ? Engine hrs ?
By the way , I would change the coolant and oil even if the seller said he/she did so . I use amsoil coolant and oil for my boat . I clocked more the 300hrs last week and had the boat for 7 years now . Maintenance is a MUST !!! Cover the canopy if the sun is hot in your area so that your screens don't get laminated .

Thank you, glad to have found this forum as it's a great resource for jet boat owners.

The boat is powered by a single 1.5L 3cyl supercharged & intercooled Rotax engine rated at 250HP. It currently has 190 hrs on it and I do have service records showing the previous 2 owners maintained it well. I plan on doing most of the maintenance that doesn't get too deep since I'm quite handy with a wrench. Debating whether to get the Candoo scan tool, it would certainly save me time and drives to/from the dealer.

We're in the Midwest where it typically doesn't get too hot for too long, in fact winter lasts a lot longer around these parts. It seems the summer season is mid-May thru end of September, after which we tend to get the first frosts. The boat will be stored inside over winter, but will probably sit in the driveway the few months of summer that we'll use it.

Hello, I just purchased this 2020 255 ID Open. I'm new to the forum and am loving all the info. I appreciate all the Jet Boat knowledge. I do have a question... Mine has the Blue/Colored Console and Hard Top. I have scoured the internet and it's the only one I have come across. Does anyone know if it was an option or did the previous owner have it done. Apperars to be gel coat and matched the exterior perfectly leading me to believe it's factory ???

That is a fine looking boat. The previous owner must have been the shrink wrap cause it looks spotless for a 4yr old boat.

That's a beautiful boat indeed, and probably the one I'll upgrade to once we live on the southern coast somewhere.

It looks factory to me too, but it could have been done as an aftermarket upgrade to match. In any case, looks fantastic.

Yes I found a good but just before purchase they had to replace the infamous reverse module. I've had it twice so far so good.
