Started with the Speedo working intermittently, ultimately stopped completely (speedo wheel appears to be in good working order). Next trip out (speedo still not working) the tach guage started cutting in an out and by the end of the trip both gauges are non functioning. The boat seems to perform just fine, starts, idles, acceleration all appear to be non affected. Battery terminals are not corroded and are tight. I am about to start taking the dash apart and unplug the gauges and check for loose connections. It appears easier to take dash apart than crawling my big butt under the cushion.
I have heard that this was a common issue with Yammies but to my surprise i have not found anybody else mentioning it on this forum.
Suggestions? Causes? Fixes?

Have you tested power or grounds on the back of your gauges. All the gauges are clearly labeled.

Agreed I would start at the connectors behind dash. I'm not 100% about your model on my 08 230 I have a access cover in engine compartment on right side that has connectors behind also. I would loom there if nothing is found behind dash.

Sounds like you're losing either a power supply or a ground to those gauges. I think you're headed in the right direction by looking at wiring behind the dash. Take note to see if all of those gauges share a positive &/or ground wire. Then maybe use a test light to verify that both wires are functioning properly. Then try jumping a temporary wire directly to the battery ground and the ground behind the dash.

Hope that makes sense and that it's an easy fix. ;)
