After buying the Cabo grill at a decent price I had to figure out how to mount it in the SX 230 (2005).

I purchased the pricey Magma fishing rod holder mount for nearly $80. Geesh!$!$. I wanted the grill to attach to my existing table leg so that I can grill on the swim platform or in the cabin area depending on wind and conditions.

I was first going to drill holes through the mount and the table leg to secure it but thought against it because it will take too long to undo the bolts if I want to switch to the table top.

So, I looked around my parts collection and found this pole to pole clamp that fits the bill. One bolt for quick changing if needed and sturdy. The only downfall is that it's not stainless. I believe the clamp can be found at www.solidsignal.com

That looks kind of like a chain link fence component. If so, I bet you could find the same thing galvanized at Lowes.

@Murf'n'surf, sorry to post this, but I'm only doing it to help those who may decide on a similar project later.
This is a really good mount for Magma Cabo... the base expands to fit the inside of the table leg/rod holder.

At full expansion, it was a little loose for my 2015 table leg, so I added a sleeve made of 2"abs to the inside of my table leg.
Looks clean, and stores easily.
Hmmm...interesting, maybe I need to do a return. My inside diameter is 2" on the old style legs. I bet the 2015 legs are 1.5"

I understand the "ABS" (pipe) now, I was thinking it was a typo. Your table leg is probably 2" ID also.

I started thinking about how I'm going to remove my setup from the grill...... It won't be easy.

I just stopped in at West Marine and purchased the mount recommended by @MrMoose Thank you sir!! I saw your thread but wasn't sure what the mount did...now I know.

I'll update once I try to fit this mount into my table leg.
