What's best to use on a moldy bimini? Preferably something I can pick up at Walmart, home depot/ lowes, or west marine.

Thanks

@ZippyBoater Beat me too it. I mix up some Oxyclean and water and scrub my bimini and the bimini cover down when I start to notice spots and blotches.

Your bimini is most likely Shurlast fabric and not Sunbrella, but this is what Sunbrella recommends to clean their marine canvas.

And from the Sunbrella website...

Think it's ok to use wet and forget with the bimini on the boat? It's all on the under side. Or will that stuff stain the sea dek?

Star Brite is a great cleaner, you can consider it. I have personally used this product before and found it to be effective in removing stains coming from mildew and even molds. Sprayed waited about 10 minutes, and it worked GREAT. Mildew and old stains almost completely gone.

i cleaned mine twice this summer. first time after i bought the boat, removed from frame (it's easy), did major spraying down with oxyclean, got after it with a deck brush, then soaked in super hot tub with more oxyclean for 4 hours, then washing machine and hang dry. second time, after a lost storage boot and Hitchcockian bird attack (less death but more shit), removed from frame , sprayed with oxyclean and straight to washing machine on hot, hang dry. punchline is, the bimini got just as clean the second time as the first, without all the scrubbing and time spent soaking. oxyclean and washing machine = tough to beat.
