As title states this is not something I’ve ever done and not sure what I would be getting into and if it’s something I can tackle myself. Not sure how much wiring is involved or if it’s plug and play?

My 2018 242XE has a thumping sound system really sounds good but the Bow small speaker on right I guess is blown as it’s very quiet compared to rest.

Looks like on Partzilla this part number F3F-U8192-30-00 is for this exact speaker in the front and it’s about $200. This is part number for the speaker only not the nice cover bracket or the screws.

So if I buy this for $200 how easy is it to change myself? Is it super easy? Can anyone provide a step by step? Anything I need to watch out or be careful about?

Thanks in advance and I’ll provide a few pics of what I’m talking about and replacing from the Yamaha parts site. Should I just get this stock OEM one or is there a really good cheap alternative from West Marine? Thanks in advance!

It’s really simple to change a speaker. Just remove the screws, pull out the speaker with your fingers (it might be a little sticking because of the gasket but nothing too much), disconnect the two wire connectors (they’re just held in place by friction) and then reverse the process. You can’t mix up the wires because the positive and negative wire connectors are different sizes.

I don’t know what model of Wetsounds speaker is in your boat but when you pull the speaker, look on the back and you’ll see the model number.

I would look on the Wetsounds website or Amazon and check the price there. Anything that’s Yamaha OEM is likely overpriced.

I just looked on the Wetsounds website. The Recon 6 (no RGB lights) are $200 for a pair. They have different grill styles so make sure you get the one to match yours. Amazon seems to have the same price.

Is that the same speaker OEM I would have had up there in the bow the recon 6?

check the back of the speaker when you pull it. I think so but don’t know for sure. Hopefully somebody with your model boat will respond

The wiring is soldered to the terminals ive a brand new pair that it took off the 252 without even being in the water once, $150 shipped

Thanks for the offer I will try to get my speaker off this weekend and make sure it’s the same one you have. What model number does it say on the back of yours?

Is there a model number or anything on the back? I can compare to mine when I remove it

There is no model markings as it oem,
