I recently added insulation under my engine hatch to deaden engine noise and I need to purchase new gas struts to support the additional weight of the seat above the engine. Any recommendations? I added about 20-30 pounds of insulation.

Did the insulation work?

We’ve added DynaMat to a lot of the Jet boat engine bays and it does make a noticeable difference in noise reduction but,... it still resonates due to the fiberglass hull / bilge area , almost like a sound tunnel affect. But like I said it is a noticeable sound reduction difference. Something I would recommend doing. Could be intimidating but with some patience and good cleaning/prep the DynaMat or any comparable product goes on easily.

Found mine on Ebay just searched for SE150P-30 (the old strut), found this SELLER and paid about $13. Good luck!
