Hey guys I need so help I brought my buddy's 2014 Scarab 195. It had ten hours on it. I ran into some low water rocks oysters etc. engine never shut off but the boat would t move just smoked. I shut it off and called sea tow. When I got it out of the water I seen the wear ring was in the impeller. This was my second time using it. I had a feeling something was up the first time I used it cause it had some captivation. My question is how do I find the size of the wear ring i need. Scarab has no info. The engine is a Rotax 1503. Thank you in advance.

It likely is the same wear ring used in a Sea Doo jet ski.

@ScarabMike, do you know the size or part number?

I believe it will either be 155mm or 160mm.
Which hp engine do you have?

It's a 2014 195 I think a 200

i looked at sea doo but that are many part numbers for there wear rings.

Have you searched this forum? I seem to remember a few people with very new Scarabs last season posting problems with their wear rings, either from rocks or ropes. Maybe there are part numbers in them? one in particular was a girl with like 10 hours in need of wear ring if I remember correctly.

@Tommy ru Sounds like you have destroyed the wear ring which, all things considered, is not too bad, it is kind of designed to be a sacrificial part. Hope you find specific info here. Please also check with the guys on Greenhulk forum, they should be able to give you some quick help with the pump disassembly and parts list.
Keep us posted. Hope you can fix it and its not too bad!

At least it's a relatively inexpensive part. Tools will probably include a saw zaw, screw driver or chisel and a hammer among others. I would look for a stainless steel replacement thinking it sophomore b a lot more wear resistant.

Thank you guys. I appreciate it. Just wish the were some schematics or a part list Scarab would provide.

@Tommy ru The wear ring on the Scarab should be 160mm. Its on there very tight, but do not cut or pry the ring off. Here are some videos to help you remove the pump and ring. Good luck on the repairs.

The new 300 HP sea doo also uses the same pump as we have, but uses a thinner wear ring with a 161mm impeller. Im going to order these soon, and fit them on my Scarab. If it works (and it should) it would give you a better hole shot, and maybe 1-3mph due to the new blade design. More to come on this! If I remember correctly @Speedling has been saying this for a while now.

Do you know what uses the 155mm pump vs the 160?
I was thinking they should be 160 on the 200 and 250. Yes, the 300 needs a bigger pump but 300 hp! Wow! 161 mm is very minimal but at least it's something!
Goes to show you how delicate the condition of the pump is!

Thank you everyone. Part in hand. Going to put it in.

Thats great. I replaced a few of those back in the day on my Sea Doo boat. It might be worth keeping a spare on hand just in case you suck up a rope or rocks in the future.

Good luck with the repair. Keep us posted.

Thank you. Removed the old one that was destroyed installed new all set. I bought the OEM part. Went smooth I don't think I will waste my time with aftermarket.
