Hey everyone! LONG time lurker, first post and finally a card-carrying forum member. Picked up my 2021 252SE yesterday from the local dealer and, after a brief outing on Lake Travis here in central Texas, brought her home and couldn't be happier. I am a fairly young guy (33) and I've been working hard towards owning my own boat since my early/mid 20's - FINALLY made it happen! I have been stalking these forums for years enviously reading about Yamahas as I've had my heart set on one forever, can't tell you how good it feels to, at long last, be part of this community.

I wanted to create a intro post here and also offer up answers to any questions folks might have about the new 2021 25 foot boats because Yamaha seems to be plugging the really high-end wakesports models (for obvious reasons...) and not giving proper shrift to the other phenomenal boats they're making. I searched high and low for info on the 252SE's ever since the 2021 launch announcement in August and there's just not a ton of info out there at all... So if you have anything you'd like to know about it, feel free to ask and I'll do my best to get you an answer. For now, here's some pics of the rig!

Thanks and hope to see y'all out on the water!

Congrats! I wanted the AR250 and somehow after months of waiting, a 252SE showed up exact same color. Went to check it out and was sold! Pick it up Monday! Love the pics! How did it handle?

That’s your first boat? Daaammn!!!

I'll tell you this much, after years (literally) of checking out Yamaha boats and doing endless hours of comparison and analysis... I came *this* close to buying a 2020 242SE. But I had heard that Yamaha was going to be doing 25 footers in 2021 and really wanted to see what they came up. Plus, the wife was pregnant with our first and I felt like having a baby AND buying a boat at the same time would just be too crazy. So I passed at the time. I have had showroom time with both the AR240 and the 242/252SE and, in all honesty, I sincerely felt that the SE models were well worth the extra money for the additional features that they have. Thats just my opinion though.

I can guarantee you this - you *will not* be disappointed in choosing the 252SE. It's far better than my fevered daydreams could conjure up... I honestly feel like if I (and this is just me personally) would have gotten the AR250, I would have wanted the upgrades afforded by the 252SE. Specifically, the MASSIVE Bimini top (I love it so bad...), the convertible stern seating (I didn't think I'd like it as much as I do - the wife is a big fan of this too), the full-sized Connext screen and the fly-by-wire throttles. The sound system is no slouch either. Long story short - WORTH IT

Nice boat indeed! I have the 212 in the same color scheme and I'm also in Round Rock! So far we've found Lake Belton to the be the best for a day on the lake. However, Mansfield Dam boat ramp on Lake Travis is only minutes away and my wife and I have had some date nights at the Gnarly Gar by boat. Just be careful at night... Lake Travis goes from 150' deep to 1.5' deep very quickly, and at night it requires careful eyes to find the way.

Welcome to the forum. I too was a lurker for a while and just got the word that our 212SD will be in next week.

It appears that both your boat and our boat don't have the Fusion stereo but the Ennovation stereo instead. I've found very little info on this system so wondering if you have any info? How does the stock stereo sound. The little info I did find indicated this system may have an amplifier. Could you confirm or deny? If it does, could I get a pic of it and location?

Can anyone tell me about the sound system on the 255xd/xe? Icon 8 tower speakers. What model soundbar and what model coaxial and what subwoofer revos? And what amps they will be including?

A15F915F-682E-4359-84A2-4883B0640648.jpeg I got one of those gorgeous bad ass boats to ?? first boat purchase! Had it for about a month now. Love it ❤️❤️

We launched at Mansfield for our inaugural trip - pretty steep ramp there! We're probably going to head up to Buchanan in the relatively near future, but we have plans to hit Stillhouse Hollow and Belton as well.

The wife is definitely interested in doing the Gnarly Gar thing and, since Travis is such a reasonable tow from our place, we'll most likely be out there for the impromptu boating days. And I appreciate the heads up about Travis's depth - trust me, I'm well aware haha. I grew up on sterndrive boats - one of the reasons I wanted to get into the jetboat world so badly. Prop-anxiety is a thing of the past!

The stereo in my 252SE sounds great. I do a lot of recording/mixing/mastering, so I'm a somewhat of an audiophile (mostly when it comes to headphones) - my standards are relaxed a little bit when it comes to audio systems in vehicles just because, once you get to a certain level, you're just dumping exponential amounts of money into something to only get incrementally better performance.

With that said, I have zero complaints about the system on the 252SE. There are 6 Wetsounds speakers (2 bow, 2 cockpit, 2 stern) and what appears to be a 12" Wetsounds subwoofer mounted into the port side bench seat facing the rear of the passenger's seat. The only real control panel for the stereo is the one mounted at the stern, other than that all the controls are integrated into the Connext touchscreen.

I believe that the amplifier for the system is where Enovation comes in. I will double check for you, but in the helm console, there is a steel cover that is wingnutted down to the floor and looks to be covering up stereo equipment. It would make sense to hide an amplifier in that console as well.

I looked on Yamaha's website and they're advertising the 212SD as having 6 total speakers - meaning I don't think that your boat is equipped with a subwoofer. I'm not sure if they'd include a dedicated amp for a sub-less system, but I could be wrong.

Good looking boat and welcome!

Question - is the blue at the bottom painted on or vinyl?

Beautiful boat!

Welcome. Beautiful boat and congrats on the delivery. Im in the Cedar Park area. If you think Mansfield is steep ramp one at Jones Brothers will make you queezy.

We usually do Travis since we are only 10 min from the closest ramp to us. We also do Georgetown and occasionally do Austin as well. We did LBJ over Labor Day and it was nice. We need to take a trip to Stillhouse still and Buchanan is on the list as well.

Stay on the cliffside on Travis and typically you'll be ok. There are definitely some regular trouble spots when the water gets down to where we are now.

Enjoy the boat. Hopefully we'll get a few more weekends like this one.
