Maybe another option. If you own your home with enough equity take out a heloc. Should be a much lower rate and a tax break.

Still fighting hard to get the boat. dealer called me a couple times just to keep in touch. not try to push anything
He offered
A bank loan with 4.9 x 240 month
478 monthly payment

Not sure if should give a try to get financed by Yami card with another dealer ... Still seems weird they didn't even try . my credit is 750 but I got not big loans yet . so he said yamaha isn't going to take the chance with 60k .. maybe 20 but no more than . maybe they are just to honest in a world of lies and didn't want to run my credit for nothing

In another hand . Even boat price is fair I'm going to fight some of the fees almost 4000 in charges (prep'deliv, dealer fee
etc)
I agree shipping a boat isn't cheap so ok. but a prep fee and a dealer fee on a 60k boat seems to much . plus I got to pay for the cover (800) and no anchor .
Well will see. .. hopefully will have it for new year but I'm not in a race so will wait till or came just right

@Miajet here is a video of us coming back from Staniels Cay in the Exuma Island chain on a 2015 AR240 so what your looking at should handle it about the same. We were in 2-4ft seas probably. IT handled the entire trip well almost 700 miles of offshore use in a week. The return trip starts about the 1:35 mark of the video.

Love the video!

Now I love riding my boat hard (you should see my Jeep) but I highly differentiate between local play and blue water commute.

When I'm crossing blue water, I work to avoid getting air and the bow slamming down into the next wave.

We had 2-4 footers both way to Bimini in '16 and we all settled into about 22-24 mph for the crossings.
A couple boats started out at 30+ but they ended up stopping every 45 min to fix something that had broken free aboard (windshields in particular).

The newer 24's of Yamaha have expanded their ability to handle waters found along the coasts.

Thanks! We had to much ground to cover to do those speeds. We averaged speeds of around 35 mph and actually had a 70 mile strectch between chub and coming back to Bimini where we were doing 45 mph. We were the first group to leave on the return for the 2016 Bimini trip we settled in at around 32 mph for comfort of some of the crew but we were all pretty much used to it by that point.

What are the difference between the 16 and 17 . the salesman said both are exactly the same with a huge price tag difference

The only difference I remember I think is the carpet and the clean out plugs. There maybe more but not a lot was changed on the 17 240's

Also the flush ports where moved also if I remember right. I believe @Glen meant when Yamaha did the redesign from the previous model. As the keel helps and the earlier mode bow wasn't as wide and sat lower to the water also.

@robert843 and @1948Isaac Bahamas 2016 trip discussions revealed the unmistakable truth about the 2015+ 240/242 line with the redesigned "keeled" hull - those hulls tend to cut through water rather than slap the bottom/stern on hard landings in rough waters, which really cushions the ride. I know it opened MY eyes (not that it is a difficult concept, it's just that most of us don't think of it -- until you take it in 4ft seas...)

Avoid the 20 year loan at all cost. If you went to term in the loan you would spend over 100k for the boat. Even if you tried to pay more on the loan as you went the front end of the loan would be so loaded with interest you would be severely upside down in the boat in a few years.

Well still on the fight ... lol

After going up and down we decide to go between the ar212 or Ar 210 with several thousand under the 24 seems as a good start

Yami card , now run by synchronic should approved without much hassle @2.99 x 60 months will give me enough room to pay a big chunk in the next month's

Is there any noticeable upgrade betw 210 and 212 to spend a few more bucks ?

Now the question no one has been able to answer
How about the new engine TR-1 HO
Is there any 2017 21ft sol coming with the 1.8

Thanks every 1

I understand your point and the same apply when you buy a home or a car
But unless you are very fluently in cash is almost impossible to get a short term loan
A 50k boat with a 5-7 years loan will take a huge chunk from your bank every month . Not even thinking in full pay in cash. Will take many years to save 50k for a boat . Always . Always there is something more important to spend the money
My strategy when Im financing is to get the longest term with the lowest interest then make extra payments every month . But then if one month I dont have the flexibility I wont be asphyxiated with the regular payment
Plus I see this type of investment as for life .. After 5 years Im sure I will like to trade for a newer boat . So it really never ends
Btw Im self employed so my revenue varies from week to week

Since my last post I was doing a research on the 210 and 212

I'm leaning to the 212 @49k . Main reason the twin 1.8 engine . Which I had in my ski for many years and I know it's a great engine. I'm not trusting 50k in a new model .
Also I had the Mr1 before and switching to the 1.8 was a great improvement . So I don't think the new Tt1 Will be a match for the 1.8
Plus the 212 comes with rear speakers , sound control , joystick, etc
Only missing the nice bars for the shade
212 limited comes with a bimini which i dislike but can live with
