@BAC.94 thanks for the welcome! I'm at Geist so last year I only took my boat off the water once, but this year I plan to travel to a few places for sure!

Yeah I've been thinking UPGRADE lately myself. We bought our LS2000 (2002 model) back in 2013. We've had a blast with it for 3 full seasons and it has been a great boat to learn on and on most occasions it's just me and my GF and occasionally one other couple but there are a few times a year we would really like seating for 8. Also a bigger, heavier boat that sits a bit more out of the water would be nice for when the water is a tad rougher. I will be looking for a 240 Limited S (2010 or newer) or maybe a 212SS (2010 or newer)

I'm a little late to the Welcome Party, but welcome aboard! You'll love the AR192 (I have the SX192) ... soon you'll be wanting to upgrade again --- 212 perhaps?! lol

Lots of great info on this forum - LED installs, tips and tricks, winterizing, maintenance -- it's all here.

@David D a 212x was actually what I wanted but I just built a house and my wife wanted a single jet so it was a good opportunity to upgrade to basically brand new while saving some bucks! That being said a 212x won't be long off, maybe 2 years or so to recover some funds

I'm happy with the 192 (nice size for garage, great space for a 19 footer). But that 212 sure looks awesome! If we did more boating on rougher water, I'd want to upgrade (we get tossed around a little in rough water here, although it's rare).

@David D i was curious about how it will do on rough water, but I know it has to be better than my old LS2000. In the end I love the 192 look and saved a ton buying a year old with only 8 hours on it, so I felt like it was a win. I did test drive it on the dealers personal water but it wasn't choppy so hard to know how it will really handle. All that said, my wife drives about 75% of the time and she loved it so...

you'll both love it ... seems like whenever we buy a camper or boat, we all start wanting a bigger one. but i really do like this 192 -- it keeps up with the larger boats and is affordable and practical because of it's small size. plus the maintenance is a lot less having only one engine.

I couldn't believe that my insurance was actually cheaper! I guess maybe because it's only a single engine. I was hoping for better gas mpg but I gather the 192 isn't great.

Oh well I have all winter for my list of add ons and then it'll be an easy summer!

You will love the boat. I was worried my SX190 might be too small for my family with four kids and three dogs, but actually find it kind of perfect in mixed use and maintenance wise. We primarily boat on a small river though.

I was at a St. Louis boat show talking to some Yamaha reps (from Surdyke, Lake of the Ozark, MO) who claimed these 19 footers for some reason take the wake from big cruisers on their lake better than the larger ones in the lineup. I know, makes no sense, but they were swearing by it.

Maybe they meant they "take on the wake from big cruisers" - lol.

It actually handles fairly well -- but does "glide" from side-to-side very easily from larger waves and wakes.

Hey I just propagate that rumor so my wife would agree to take the Bimini trip next year ;).

I actually would bet the 19ft boat on plane takes wake better then or as good as the 21ft model. Coming from the Bimini trip the 19ft boats with with us struggled to keep pace with the bigger boats but 2 of the newer 21ft boats with us took serious water over the bow and could not continue. The 19ft boats seem to sit higher out of the water on plane and the 21ft ones seem to sit a little lower. This is from a vision standpoint and could not confirm for sure just an observation. I did ride on a members 2014 212ss while in Bimini for a bit last year and it seemed fine around the island but I do know the 19ft boats could not keep up with the 23ft or 24ft boats on the crossing so I do know that the biggest ones do handle big water a little better but I would be interested to compare the 19ft to 21ft in big water. Dont get me wrong the 19ft boats on this years Bimini trip took a beating on the crossing and the boat probably could handle more than the passengers as I remember on the crossing one of the 19ft boats realized they didn't have enough fuel to keep the slow pace they were going and decided to pick it up and the boat was fine just a rough ride on the passengers.

@robert843 I certainly hope my wife does not read your posting! LOL.

But I kind wondered about Yamaha's choice of a hull for their FSH model...

@swatski both of these videos will give you an idea of last years crossing. Probably wouldn't watch with your wife lol but the are not that bad. The second video is raw unedited video of about our first 11 minutes out it probably gives you a better idea of what it was like pulling out of Ft Lauderdale The first is edited with music.

@robert843 what can I say... my hero. Love the choice of music, too.
