Next Boating Season = Awesome!!!

Looking at the picture I thought it was pretty long, how does your F-150 do towing it? We have a diesel so it tows just about anything we have very well, we used to have a Toyota Tundra when we bought our 30Ft trailer, it towed it fine but the gas mileage was horrendous to say the least, and the stability of towing with a 3/4 ton was night and day difference especially in windy conditions.

It does the job for now. Gas mileage sucks like you said but the truck does fine pulling wise. We have a weight distribution hitch and anti sway control.

A truck upgrade is defiantly going to be in the future :winkingthumbsup"

Go diesel when you upgrade trucks, you will never want to own a gasser again!!!

I'll put it this way, it's unsinkable. ;) I'll post something up when I take delivery this weekend.

I know Ranger Bass Boats are unsinkable:

All of the 5th wheels we looked at had the bedroom over the hitch which left the bedrooms to be small, or maybe it was the headroom from the bed to the ceiling that we did not like. Never saw one with a bedroom in the rear, that would make a lot more sense as far as room goes. I do hear 5th wheels are much nicer to tow than bumper pulls, but ours seems to be fine with the sway controller on the weight distribution hitch setup. We have a EF6300 iSDE Yamaha Inverter Generator, but that puppy is heavy to try to load in the back of the truck, so we typically stay in RV Parks with full hook ups.
My thinking behind wanting a generator for the camper is to give us more options when we decide to head in your direction in a couple of years. I know a lot of places that we might want to stay don't have hookups, especially national parks. Or be able to boondock wherever it's allowed and still have all the comforts of home will give us more freedom. My plan is to have a rack built to carry the generator, bikes, and possibly room for a second spare tire and additional fuel tanks. Lifting a generator that's the size that I want isn't gonna be an option because one, I wouldn't be able to handle it myself and two, I don't think there's room in the bed to clear the hitch. I'm looking at the Yamaha 4500 inverter generator.

I have thought about welding up a rack on the back of our trailer for our generator so it would give us more options, our generator was purchased for backup power purposes here at the house, it's heavy, I doubt my Wife and I could lift it in the back of the truck, would need a couple guys to do it.

Before we had our camper I purchased champion 2000 watt inverter generator thinking if we ever did get a camper then I could buy another one and piggy back the 2 to run the whole camper in a boondock situation. The one generator runs everything in the camper just fine, it will not be able to run the AC. That's where the other one will come into play. And at 50 pounds a unit they are fairly easy to move right now.

Well just got home from picking up the new travel trailer, it's amazing the size difference of an extra 5 feet in length and 2000 lb's more weight, the Duramax towed her down the road nicely. We are going to driveway camp this weekend, then take it down to Lake Pleasant's RV Park next weekend for 3 nights.

Very nice!!! We did the driveway camping the first 2 weekends that we had ours. This weekend will be our first outing visiting @Boat Crazy!

I see it has a power tongue jack..... Very jealous.

Have a great camping trip!!! This trailer is fully loaded with all the goodies, it's more like a nice hotel on wheels.

@veedubtek I was looking at another larger Whaler this spring. I love the little 15 footer I used to scuba dive from. In full gear you can hang over the side and not take on any water. Nice freeboard for a small boat. Then my co-pilot (wife) started looking at Yamahas and here we are. Absolutely no regrets. Different boats for different purposes, mostly.

I just had to replace mine a couple weeks ago, my old one started clicking and acted like it was straining more than usual on our last trip. When I went to unhook at the campground it stopped completely. I had to use a 1/2" drive ratchet with 3/4" socket to move it up and down, it was quite the workout. When I put the new on e on I was amazed at how quiet and easy it raised the trailer my old one was probably like that when it was new but I just got used to it getting gradually louder and louder over time, and there is really no way to lube it which sucks.
