Finished installing two new amps this past weekend. But I have what is probably ground loop noise. When I connect RCA cables to my new Wet Sounds HTM-8 I get a high-pitched tone noise. Not very loud but very noticeable and annoying. This amp is to drive the 6 OE 6.5" speakers and a new pair of tower speakers. I haven't mounted the tower speakers yet. I also haven't installed the sub yet or connected anything but power and ground to the mono amp. Just trying to drive the OE speakers for now. I have the power and ground for my new amps connected directly to the positive and negative posts of the house battery. The signals are from the factory wiring from the Connext system using harness adapters. There is no noise when I plug my phone directly into the amp using a lightning to RCA adapter. Any suggestions on a possible cause or a solution?

My stereo installers chased this when I first had my system put in. In my case, it was defective JL audio speaker wiring that was allowing noise from the RGB wires to interfere.

What you might try is recreating the tone, and then unplugging speakers one at a time to see if you can narrow down a bad run. Also, make sure wire that's ran, but not connected to speakers, isn't connected to your amp. Air gap all of it.

You've got to run your ground wire (black) from the head unit directly to the ground terminal on your amp, then from this to your battery. This will remove your low pitched hum.

I understand it is probably caused by a difference in ground potential between the amplifier ground and source ground. However, my head unit is the built in Connext screen. This is connected via harnesses. It will take some digging to trace this out. I appreciate your input.

Are you sure your head unit is the Connext? On my 2020, Connext is only reading/writing back to the Fusion. I see your boat is a 2024, so I could be wrong.

I could also be wrong. Where is your Fusion unit located?

So, after reading some other threads is the head unit actually the swim deck remote?

Correct! Everything for audio is controlled at the swim deck head unit.

OK, great. That's why I'm asking these stupid questions. So y'all can learn me some stuff. How accessible is it?

I don’t know the exact procedure (I had it installed for me) but usually the surrounding plate snaps off and then you just unscrew from the carrier.
