Ive read that the federal / coast guard had reached agreement with the mfgs to limit top speed of pwcs in US out of the box to 75, my 06 ho maxes at 59 and my fax 140 about 51. I wish I could get to 65 but can’t see it happening anytime soon.

They exempt the skies but if the manufacturers exceed the top speed they would risk loosing the exemption. The reason for the limit is that at a speed of 70 plus you risk the loss of limbs if you hit the water wrong. So there is a good reason for this however people can build a ski to go as fast as they want and seriously I am happy with interstate speeds on my ski. There was a retired professional baseball player that died here last summer after buying what was touted as a flying jet ski, he crash landed in the gulf. http://people.com/sports/former-mlb-pitcher-roy-halliday-killed-plane-crash/
