May be going to look at an AR210 that's definitely in my price range, even though the guy is asking above book value for it... NADA "average resale" is just under $19k, he wants $21k. I haven't seen it in person yet (it's in a boatel), but the pictures make it look immaculate. Assuming it (and the trailer) is in really good shape, should I even bother trying to get the guy to budge on his price? I think it's fair for a really good condition boat, just wanted to know what other's opinions are on the subject.

Is he tossing in everything you need to get out in the water and has he done any mods to the boat?

Since there's no mention or sign of either, I'm going to assume not. Will find out for sure in a couple days when I go take a look at it.

NADA is historically low on these boats. Take a look at sales price in that region to get a better idea of price competition...

I second @jawsf16 . Most used Yamahas around here never sell for average retail if they are in good shape. At the end of the day, if it's the boat you want and YOU don't think it is overpriced, your the only person who has to be happy with the deal...

Man that right there is good advice! There is always that guy who tells you loudly how he paid less for whatever you just bought....
smthng, if you like the boat I say buy it, mash the throttle and don't look back!

I would never sell mine for supposed book value. Always seems way low; maybe they use November pricing lol. Spring pricing vs Fall pricing is a huge difference.

My thoughts are alwwwwwwwwaaaaayyyys try and negotiate. The worse he can say is no...then if he won't budge pay what your comfortable with.
