For those of you who have the following or similar horns, which I believe the majority of us do…

They come in Stainless Steel, white, or black.

I had to replace my horn 2 years ago when my boat was only 2 years old. There is only a thin film of fabric protecting rain or splashing water from entering the horn. Not really thinking about it…I replaced the horn as it was factory installed.

Less than a year later, the horn was muted and full of water. Then the small piece of fabric came loose and flew out of the cover while underway.

I believe that the factory horn was installed upside down so I flipped it and drilled several weep or drain holes. I think that should permanently take care of the issue. I did install a small piece of black “tyvek” like material over it as well.

After you drill the weep holes it will blow out. Just put power to it with the boat wiring or another 12 volt battery.
