Proper Anchor for 212x

@dansshin , check out my anchor locker modification for the box anchor: https://jetboaters.net/threads/212x-anchor-locker-mod-for-mounting-slide-box-anchor.9045/

You can probably skip the wood shelf and just use the padding, which would be much easier to do. It can fit either flat or extended, so not much trouble in my view. Yes, you will be pulling harder to get it off the bottom but that's the point, it will be pulling harder to keep you in place .

I love my 212x, mainly use it for pulling my teen son and his buddies on tubes and for wakeboarding, have yet to try surfing but hope to get to that sometime soon. Once tired out we throw the box anchor and it is base camp for swimming, fishing and otherwise relaxing.

You are welcome to my Yamaha anchor, PM sent and happy 4th! [flag]

@eticket Thanks for that information. If I do end up going with box anchor I'll keep this mod in mind.

We haven't tried the surfing either yet. Since we just got the boat last year, my pre-teens along with my wife have just done, knee boarding, wake boarding and tubing. My wife wants to try the surfing so I'm sure I'll be buying the gear for that soon. I haven't tried to fill both ballasts fully so I'm not sure my boat without other modifications can make big enough wake for surfing.

Thank you. I replied to your PM. Enjoy the 4th!

I have an sx210, and after leaving 3 of those slip-ring fluke anchors, and one chene anchor at the bottom of the lake, I got an 18lb. Richter anchor and haven't had a problem since. Heavy enough to hold the boat in a stiff wind and retrieves without a hitch every time. It even sits in the anchor locker nicely.richter-anchor-5-prongs.jpg

Thanks to @eticket I have an anchor that fits the 212x anchor locker and few pounds heavier also but how do you remove the rope from the old anchor? It looks like ring should unscrew but doesn't seem to budge! Is there a trick to get this off so I can use it on new?

@eticket I tried the anchor today and to my surprise boat was holding. I had 8 people in the boat with moderate current. Maybe I just got lucky with the spot or extra few pounds this has is helping in my situation but it held and when I pulled the anchor up there was no weed or dirt at all which I thought was strange and had never been the case with my other anchor. Always had tone of weed whuch I think was grabbing as my boat drifted. Any way just wanted to give you an update as I said I would.

Thank you again!
