I see that people are using the ProSport 20 amp chargers. Will a ProSport 12 amp charger work. Why or why not ?

Welcome aboard!

A 12 amp charger will work just fine. The amp rating can be used to determine how long it will take to recharge a battery. The higher the amp rating, the quicker you will be able to recharge the battery. This is only a really big deal if you have a lot of Ah on your boat. For example, if you have 3 house batteries rated at 105 Ah, you have a total capacity of 315 Ah. If you discharge those 50%, you need to put back over 150 Ah. That would take a 12 amp charger 12.5 hours. If you have a 20 amp charger, it would only take 7.5 hours.

That's probably more than you were asking, but in short, you'll be fine.

That's perfect. Thank you.
