As the title says, I have an AR190 and an HOA that disallow boats to be parked in their driveways so it hides in the garage every few days. Here's how me make it happen.

First we have to Get short!

Then, we get down...with 4" Drop hitch

4" drop hitch with trailer lowered on with a floor jack.

Way down.....

Nice pics and very nice boat too. I live in a HOA community and I have to go thru the same hassle every weekend.
Looking at the 2nd and 3rd picture I think this may come very handy for you http://www.sharptruck.com/class-iii-adjustable-trailer-hitch-ball-mount with an adjustable hitch I think you wont have to use your jack anymore. Have a good day and happy boating!

I actually tow with a Convert-A-Ball 4 way cushioned tow bar. This dropped one is just for backing into the garage. Works excellent and takes all the harsh jarring out of towing. Makes towing much quieter too.

What is the exact height of your garage opening? I was thinking about getting Ar 190 but not sure it will clear my 7' garage.

@njmr2fan ... REALLY nice write up. :winkingthumbsup"
And a really pretty Yamaha too !

You do know they make a trailer hitch movie thingie that makes putting away items on trailers a ton easier ? (ie, "dolly")

I enjoyed your story and photos, tho. Much appreciated. Makes me appreciate boat lifts a lot more ...... LOL !

Good stuff. I'm going to try to get my AR240 in the garage for the winter. Probably will have to flatten the tires to get under the door though.

Absolutely will. Garage is 7'

Thanks for the link. I had looked at those, but the height of the ball on the dolly would not allow the AR to slip under the door. If you notice in my pics, the trailer ball is really low.

Holy crap! The tongue on your trailer is only 3" off the ground.

Yep! And with the Edge backing it in, I can save my back from pushing a dolly.

@njmr2fan Nice write up. Unfortunately my 212x will not be able to fit without getting a larger opening for my garage. I'm in the process of adding 16'x24' addition to my 3rd stall and with that I plan to make the 3rd stall into double garage with 18'x8' door and overall size of 26'x24' which should give ample space for 212x and decent workstation & tool cabinets.

What kind of cabinets do you have in your last picture?

Home depot Huskies. I just got them cause they were 20% off and I was able to use harbor freight 20% coupons on top of them. COSTCO has some nice heavy duty all black wrinkle finish cabinets I like.

I want to add another 2 car garage in our driveway as well just for the boat, a car lift, and my MR2.

I'm not too picky and yours look nice to my eyes and 40% off sounds great to me!

HOAs are evil.

After giving me the impression that it would be ~$50/sq. ft. for a garage addition, contractor I was working with came back with $122/sq. ft. bid for my 16'x24' garage addition. Nearly $50k for garage....!? I'm not willing to pay nearly $50k for concrete slab and pushing the wall out 16'. Isn't there any reasonably priced contractors out there anymore?

Wow. We paid a hefty price when building our custom home at $90/sqft. $122 for a garage? You putting in marble floors and granite counters in there?

Just roof, walls and concrete. My sentiments exactly echo what you said. I just need someone with reasonable price so I can build this thing!
