That's a good breakdown.

I did something awhile back to show how a 34/42 front ring was a better option than the typical 39/53 on road bicycles.

After a few pages, the real purpose for the gearing was revealed.
3.29 = men with man buns
3.92 = real men

Well that settles it

I'm going to see this truck on saturday and get an appraisal on my tacoma. 3.29 gears and 33 gallon tank. I'll end up moving my on board air to the new truck and buy firestone air bags like my tacoma has.

I like the config, that’s about what I paid in August 2019.

Why not buy a new ram 2500 diesel? There’s not much diff in the price. That’s why I went that route. I owned that truck 6 months of towing before it down shifted for the first time when I passed a car 60-80 mph. That truck has no idea my ar240 is behind it. I had a gas Chevy 2500 before this truck. Big difference.

So I've been new pickup shopping for awhile (there's a thread around here somewhere). Since I bought the camper I've been debating getting a 2500class pickup that can tow the camper if we want.

The struggle is buying such a large HD pickup for only using it a few times a year for it's intended purpose. Now that I'm back to a SUV for commuting, it's really nice to not have the super stuff suspension and PIA parking issues.

Now, if I had the cash and inclination I would just have 2 cars. 2500 Suburban with a Duramax and an '06 Audi RS4........I'm not quite ballin' at that level yet though.

I don’t like diesel price right now but I don’t complain about my fuel mileage either 20-22 in town and 26 on the highway

I have a 2021 Ram with 3.92. I think you’re fine with the 3.29. My advice is to focus your search for the 33 gallon fuel tank. Such a big difference in how long you can go when you’re towing on trips. I have the smaller tank and hate how often I have to stop.

I really do like having the 33 gallon tank. Great for everyday use and really helpful when towing.

That 2019 Big Horn was being sold when I arrived yesterday morning..
So I went to a few different dealers and currently have a deposit on a 2020 RAM 1500 laramie with 19k miles. Fully loaded. Panoramic sunroof, 12" uconnect.. Hemi, no eTorque, 4x4. Getting $35,500 for my 2020 tacoma so total with tax savings is $38,500.. And im trying to part out to make another $1500.

I road tested the RAM and now my Tacoma feels like a POS.

I took the truck home today and I only drove about 30 miles, but my first impression is very good. Why was I driving a tacoma the past 2 years? Everything is better down to the details like the LED courtesy lamps. I think the white + chrome + 20" wheels is a good looking combo

Looks good. You can add the wireless charger and trailer controls if you want too.

I had a similar feeling when I moved from my 4dr S10 to the Yukon. The price out of pocket to go fullsize was so miniscule compared to the total operating cost it was silly. The Yukon was so much more capable, and generally a nicer ride overall. Doubt I'll ever go back to a midsize/compact pickup.

Sharp looking truck as well. Congrats on the purchase!

Don't believe this guy, he is judging you for buying a Ram :D

sweet ride..
love white and chrome
curious which rear end?
ram is cool in that they make it easy for you to look up your truck's info..
window sticker (copy/paste your vin after the '=' below)

can get a full equip listing here

It has the 3.29 rear end and should be plenty towing capacity for me.

I need to buy floor mats, install my onboard air system, and decide what air bags I'll put in the rear.
I think that I can bolt my air tank to the side of the frame. And I also have a air compressor with a bracket to bolt to the frame.. I just don't like the idea of drilling into the frame. Or am I over thinking it?

not sure of tongue wt of your boat, but doubt you'll need bags for that.

i put airlift 1000 (without on-board air comp) on my 15' 1500..cheap, simple, easy inside the coil installation, worked great.
looks like install is a bit diff for the '19....or they have frame mounted loadlifter 5000..for triple the price
i put ride-rite frame mounted on my 2500..more $ and a bit more involved install, but work great too.

prob overthinking...but maybe could find some u-bolts to clamp it onto frame rail? lots of misc plates/u-bolt items for rvs
