Has anyone put the riva intake upgrade on a 2015 242 ls. If so what is the model number. I screwed up and bought a couple using part number someone gave me off the other site. They are for non supercharged but I just got them yesterday an went to install this morning but they are to big.

@Williamsone46 Do they make much of a difference? Are they just a drop in mod or do they need any additional items?

They add a little throttle response, and increase the rpm by about 200 giving you a few mph.

Should help with elevation as well if you have an issue of the rpm's being low in higher elevations.

Great thanks guys. Is it a simple drop in mod? Are their any other parts required for it?

Will this fit on older (2010) 240s?

Should fit on any of the 1.8's I believe as their intakes are all the same from my understanding. I don't have one, so couldn't tell ya.
I thought there was a quick write up on here somewhere. It had to do with the elevation thing is why they bought it. @Williamsone46 was that u?

Thanks for posting the video!

Does this part void the warranty? I wouldn't really think it would since it is on Yamaha's accessory website.

@PolarXJ ....... Yes. But talk with your dealer ........ since he is responsible for handling the warranty claim, he is the 1 in the best position to answer.

Just to be clear, this is removing the backfire arrestor?

I understand the legal concerns but are there practical safety concerns?

Not so much on modern fuel injected engines that compensate for proper air/fuel ratios.

Yes, this removes your flame arrestor and if someone were going to make a big deal about finding your flame arrestor (which is required for legal reasons) you would need to provide the flame arrestor at the air filter.

I highly doubt a water cop is going to make you rip apart your engine air intake system to prove you have a flame arrestor unless there is some nature of an obvious problem.

Some guys have gone through more rigorous inspections than I but sisinyu is correct in that you are removing the flame arrestor and replacIng it with a pass through cylinder to smooth the air flow in that joint but if you use an aftermarket airfilter like that of r&d or riva it is the new flame arrestor, so you are once again covered.

Hmm...If you remove the restriction of the flame arrestor at/close to the throttle body but then add back the restriction of a flame arrestor at the air filter, have you really created a system with better ability to flow air?

I think it comes down to comparing the stock and aftermarket airfilters. The aftermarkets seem more open too me but I'm just eyeballing it. The aftermarket sleeve is definitely more open than the stock ribbon. The best breathing system is probably the one with the sleeve and without any airfilter at all but that's not the configuration I plan to use on my boat.
