rope sucked into engine?

I have a 1997 challenger bombardier and we sucked a rope up into our left engine. It tore the rope when it did this so we can't necessarily pull it out. how to get it out of there?

Remove the intake grate under the boat and see if you can remove the rope by cutting it out, usually that works otherwise you pull the pump but I doubt that will be necessary
