Had the boat out of storage and so far a bit of a rough start… hopefully gets better.

- shorted a battery while installing it. Wrench glowed red and fried a few connections.

- sea deck is coming up on the back platform. Picking up glue today.

- towable has an air leak

- sucked up a ski rope enough to stall the engine. Couldn’t unwind it all so limped home on one engine with rope of shame hanging off the back.

looks like you sweep all the bad luck in the first day. Hope you get all that out of the way for a perfect season going forward

It's all up from here (knock on wood)!

Plus, you get points on the board for sucking up the rope. So there is that upside...

I think I should only get points if I free it myself! I’m worried as hell that I sucked up enough to stall the engine.

Been there; done that. Worked out fine. If you get it to stall point, though, you can have wrapped enough rope to damage the fiberglass around the shaft. Rare, but it has happened. Very likely that will not be you, but make sure you check the engine compartment next time you put in to see that you don't have water flowing in... If you don't, you will probably have no lasting effects of the incident.

Yup. That’s my exact worry from reading the threads. It was one of those 6 person tow ropes, which are pretty thick.

I guess one thing at a time. Unwrap it first and see what is damaged next.

For each one of those threads you read about that, there are probably 100 who have sucked up a rope with no ill effects (in fact, I may have had 20 of those...). No need to buy trouble. Free yourself up and see where you are. Very likely you are just fine.

Well rope is out. Engine took a dozen tries to turn over. After that turned over easy on the first crank multiple times

I’ll be on the water this weekend. Hopefully that’s the end of it.
