Rounded Tower Cross Bar

Noticed today that one of the cross bars on my 2010 242 LS tower is rounded like it had water in it over the winter. Will post pics tomorrow. Anyone ever see anything like that before?

I remember someone else posting about this issue, I don't remember who it was.
 
I also remember seeing something like this. Was it over at YJB?
 
I remember it to. He said it was water damage as I recall. How does water get in the tower?
 
I just found it and bumped his thread to see how he resolved it. There is a hole in the tower just above that for the wires to pass through down into the hull. Any water should drain out into the hull I would think. I would guess bad weld but mine is on the same side as his.
