My port engine tachometer decided not to show rpms last time out. Could it have come dislodged, what do I need to look for? Just checked in garage again it's not working so somerhing is loose/disconnected.

Any ideas?

If you can access the gauge plugs swap to the other tach and see is works and if problem jumps to currently working tach

Thanks I'll try that tomorrow after state inspector leaves office and I call it a day at 10am... might even take the boat out:)

Did you use the YDS on it lately? Sounds like you forgot to plug the tach back in.

YDS? I bought boat in late January, it worked when he showed it to me. Brought home and it sat in gasrage for about 3 weeks before we took it out on a nice Friday. That is when I noticed it wasn' working.

can you get in behind the dash where the back of the gauges are to see if a wire is loose If I recall correctly there is an access hatch

Yes I plan on doing that tomorrow morning. I know my wife was storing some things in there. Didn' think about the possibility of her knocking something loose

probably what happened

Is the tachometer stuck on her number or is it down all the way down to one I just replace mine a couple of weeks ago thought it was the same thing just a heads up let me know if you need to purchase a new one I got a good website that they have for a good price.

It was always stuck on 1... I just went and made sure all the connections were firm, and then checked into the gauge itself she pulled right out.

I pushed it back in and she started reading when I turned her over.

Thanks for all the held.

The previous owner only used about 15 hours a year and had it for 3 years (sold because kid going off to school and needed a car for him).

Going to change plugs and oil within next week just because I wanna make sure it' fresh even though he said he did at end of summer.

Glad it was a simple quick fix!

One of my tachs is at 1k when not running. Not sure if that's a common occurrence with them.
