When we were going in for the night, it sounded like we sucked in a stick or rocks. We immedialty slowed to like 5 mph and docked. The dash has error code p2081 on it. Does any one know what this is or if it is a major issue? We didnt test it or drive around any more so im not sure if it still drive correctly or not. The engines did sound a little louder than normal.

It's probably debris that clogged up your cooling intake (at the back of the boat). If the water can't make it in, then your exhaust can overheat. Careful with this one, your waterbox is probably made of plastic. If it gets too hot, it can overheat and melt and let water into your engine compartment. Check that there's no debris at all by the intake at the back (look for a tube that is open). If it's clear, then I suspect the fault code will clear itself.

It's also possible the sensor itself is faulty. But I suspect debris since you mentioned you had debris in the impeller as well.

For future reference, it's important that you don't keep running the engine to avoid melting that waterbox. If you get this again, stop and check the intake, it's important. I've read a few horror stories here where water can pool into the engine bay pretty quickly.

From the Rotax Manual:

P2081
Exhaust temperature sensor fault
Intremittent connection. Damaged sensor, damaged circuit wires, damaged connector or damaged ECM output pins.
