Hope everyone had a Gr8 Christmas! Time for me to start thinking about those spring mods and one of the questions I have is - should I replace my scupper for a stainless steel one on my 2013? The scupper is above the water line, but I also do some wake surfing, so it's below water while doing that. Do these have the same risk of failure/breaking as the older models?

Thanks!

If the scupper is above the water line while at rest I don't think it's that much of an issue. The issue on the older boats is that it was under water. Additionally, even when you're surfing, I'd bet that scupper is out of the water as the boat is moving forward.

Thanks for the reply, Matt. My concern is when the swim deck is under water with a bag on it and I'm sitting still. I may just go ahead and switch it out, just to be safe.

Ah...that makes sense.

I'm not what they are like to replace on your model, but with the one on my '09, I was so glad to have my friend helping. It was such a long reach down there that my arms would get tired, he would take over and when his got tired, I'd take over again. It was well worth promising him first pull on the wakeboard behind the boat for the season.

If you can reach and wiggle it and see what happens you may not need too. Mine crumbled on my 08 when I touched it. They are just time consuming to change. It is just the location and reach which may be easier for you and possibly no grinding needed on the new one. If you do take photos as I do not think it has been documented much about changing the newer style.
