Seat shock absorbers

Has anyone tried to install a seat shock absorber on the port side seat of a sx240? We can get into some pretty choppy waters and my wife occasionally complains (politically correct) of the hard hits against the waves or swells. I have thought about a compression spring in the seat shaft that would give her an inch or two of softer movement when we hit an unexpected swell. Anyone have any thoughts about that? The captains chair has enough room underneath it for air shocks but the port chair only has 3-4” between the base and seat bottom.

She could move to the rear corner seating and it will be the smoothest there in chop. Cheaper than buying a new seat.

How about a picture of the seat and mounting bracket so we can see what you have to work with.

Maybe a tractor air suspension seat could work?

You might want to look into the Wavepro 2.0 pedestals, they use an air/nitrogen/oil shock for the post.... I'm looking into upgrading my 2010 242 fixed post captains seat to a soft ride version for about $800+. Shock Absorbing Boat Seat Pedestals
