Get a long screwdriver and heat the very end of the tip so you can put a small edge on it at an angle then work around the liner tapping the tip into the plastic and knocking it out slowly, after it comes out far enough you can clamp a pair of vice grips on the liner and tap on them with a hammer to work the liner all the way out.

I used a piece of wood (garden stake) and a mallet to remove my plastic wear ring. I wish I knew the freezer trick for putting in the new one.

Well, I pulled the impeller and then just cut the wear ring with a jig saw. That was quick and painless. The new wear ring had been in the freezer for a day or so, and I just dropped the new ring right in, no hammering required. Now I just have to put her back together and we are ready to go hopefully. Should have it in the water by tomorrow. Thanks for all the help fellas.
