Hello JETBOATERS,

First, my apologies for the newbie question but I'm sure I will find the answer among the experts in the group.

Honestly, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but every time I load my boat in the ramp, it's solid tight in the bow rollers and as soon it comes off the water a gap between the rollers and the boat is present (see pictures). I have tried getting the trailer deeper in the water and vice versa.
I'm not sure if I have to adjust the front roller assembly to my boat or if it's just my inexperience. Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated as I don't want to damage my boat. Thanks in advance.

Frank

This is normal. The boat will slide back on the bunks after you pull it out. Most of us will do a brake check from 5mph to a complete stop, this will make the boat slide forward to the roller. You can then crank the strap a few more clicks and adjust the rear straps. Also, you may want to get some Stoltz replacements. https://jetboatpilot.com/products/stoltz-bow-roller-kits

100% normal. Give it a brake check after you leave the ramp area and it'll slide back up.

Yeah, what others said about braking hard when you pull out of the ramp and into the tie-down area.

Also, on my ShoreLand'r, I ended up remounting the bow-roller assembly using the corner pivot (at the very elbow of the assembly), so that the bow eye of my 255 FSH ends up in-between the rollers, instead of right up against the top roller.

Instead of going deeper into the water with the trailer, go shallower so the boat, when winched in from floating, actually touches the bunks and you have to muscle-winch the last few inches/foot to reach the bow roller. If not already using the "trailer fenders" as a gauge for how deep to back into the water go deep enough that the top of the fenders are just awash of the water. Good Luck!
