Has anyone shortened their Speedster trailer (or similar boat trailer) for storage significantly (i.e 2' - 3')? The trailer is 3' longer than the boat. It looks like I'll have to re-do or replace the winch stand in order to get a swing-tongue put in near the bow of the boat. By leaving the winch stand as-is, I could only save about a foot in length by adding a swing tongue. I would love to see and hear of creative solutions that this community may have! IMG_2693.jpeg

You’ll definitely need to do something with that stand. You could cut it and put it more vertical but you still wouldn’t gain a lot more for the swing tongue.
If you can do the work yourself go for it. If you’re paying someone you’ll have to price it out and decide if it’s worth it to save 2 feet max.

Swing mount from Fulton I installed on my 16' fishing boat is an option. My Scarab trailer has a swing tongue but due to deterioration from salt water use it will not budge so useless.
