Noticed this small hole just inside the intake while I was winterizing last fall. Dumb question...but is this supposed to be there? Never noticed it before. Was considering sealing it with 5200. Thoughts? 2018 AR195

Um.... no, not supposed to be there. I would seal with at least silicone and at best 5200.

Thanks for the reply! New to the forum. I've never had an issue with standing water/cavitation/etc. I'm going to call the dealer and see what they say.

That's really strange - I wonder where that high pressure water has been going to all this time???

@Ross Koch glad to have you on board!

how long have you owned your boat ?
did you buy it from the dealer ?
Have you ever sucked up a rope or had debris on your shaft/impeller ?
have you noticed any performance differences with your boat since you bought it ?

I think I might try to stick something in there to see how deep the hole is,

Thanks! Bought it brand new in May 2018 from a local dealer. I've never sucked up a rope or had any significant debris in the shaft/impellar and I usually check it after every trip. No performance issues to report...tops out around 50/55mph and quick hole shot every time. That's a good idea on checking to see how deep the hole is...it did occur to me that it might not be all the way through. I know it's a long shot - but could this be a manufacturing error?

Right?! That's my biggest concern. My only hope is that it doesn't go all the way through.
