Hi folks. I am new on here. I have a 2003 Sea-Doo sportster LE Jetboat. I’m finally learning how to fix these things myself. Over a year ago, my engine compartment was flooded with water and I didn’t know how to fix it nor did I have the time to deal with it so I just left it after putting fogging oil in the head cylinders. I finally decided to learn how to fix it and work on it. I got the water out and cleaned out the carburetor per YouTube videos. I got it started and have it running after a few days work. I noticed a hole in the exhaust hose. Probably the initial problem. I ordered the hose and will change it when I get it. I am also changing the head gasket to be safe. I ran the engine briefly and noticed that there is black oily material coming out of the junction between the exhaust pipe and the Exhaust box where the hose will go. Do I need to do anything special before putting back in the exhaust coupling hose so that I can safely run water through the engine?
