Those are actually a couple of lakes in California we WONT be going to this year... Our lower lakes are full at the cost to the upper lakes....

Lake San Antonio before last weeks rain in the first picture.... Last year at this time the lake was at (04/2012) 248420 AF now it is at (02/2014) 15805 AF

The second is Folsom, and the third lake with the bridge is Orville Res.

Those lakes are SOL for sure, but they feed SOCAL, and if they dont get their water from these lakes, they pull more from the Colorado, and the Colorado drains Lake Powell and that's where my main concern is.... So in essence, Lake Powell is a Los Angeles resevoir of sorts....

San Antonio! Wow. We vacationed there with jet skis for a few years. One year the lake was low but nothing like that. That's just sad.

Lake Shasta is down 98.5 feet today. I didn't think it was going to break above -100 but we have had some decent rain. No hope whatsoever of filling this year though. The rangers said it will be down 200+ feet in August.

The average rainfall in this area for April is only 4.5" so even if we have that much it won't make a dent in the drought. Basically our rainy season (Nov-Apr) just ended with the end of March. At our house I've measured 23" for this rain season while historical average is closer to 45". This low year follows a dismal 13" total for last year. We are definitely in trouble for water this year. The fact is even with Shasta down 200 feet it is still a large lake. We also have Whiskeytown Lake here which is quite small but will remain full all summer. The trouble is everyone will be heading to Whiskeytown with Shasta so low.

Wow, that looks so sad. Wish we could send you some of ours. Last week, the Portland metro area had the wettest day in March in history! Something like 1.75". This ended up being the second wettest March on record which is saying something for Oregon.
Thus the name Soggyshoes....
