I hate it for you guys out west, I honestly had no idea that it was that bad.

On the other hand, I hear they are finding a fair amount of gold in those lakes and streams that have dried up:winkingthumbsup"

True but I just read a news story about a guy who got a ticket for using his metal detector in the dried up parts of lake Folsom (in or very near the heart of gold country). It's on federal land where use of metal debtors is forbidden. At other lakes businesses which sell recreational mining equipment are doing great saying a lot of their new customers are boaters / fisherman who won't be doing much or any boating this year because of the low water levels.

It's all relative but the SF Bay Area just had the driest march on record and the Sierra snow pack report came in at 33% of normal. Boaters will be bitching but it's the farmers and their workers that will be hit the hardest. From a consumer perspective the cost of vegis and beef is already going up. Last year the cost of a porter house steak at one of the local, restaurants was $52, this year it's $62 (as if $52 wasn't high enough). They also put a lot more fish and chicken on the menu.

Sadly ......... We are @ 86 degrees as of yesterday ......... Lake Oconee is @ full pool, and Miss B'Haven is going out with her owner, Miss Barbie, this afternoon.
We will "hold Services" for y'all colder Brothers on the Lake later today. We WILL be thinking of you. IBR SeaDoos hit the water tomorrow ! Byeeeeeeeeee

California Jetboating, 2014....

It's 57 degrees here today and supposed to hit low 60's this week. If there wasn't still a foot of ice on the local lakes I'd definitely be taking the new boat out for its maiden voyage. Won't be long now though!
