I'm looking into possibly getting a swim spa. anyone have one? are they worth it? any brands that are preferred or to stay away from? are you actually able to swim decently well in them?

I ended up buying a H2X swim spa (Challenger 15D). for anyone in northern climates, definitely worth being able to swim year-round.

I rigged up an automatic chlorine and acid dispenser that is pretty automated, so the upkeep isn't that bad either. Picture is from earlier this summer.
