I am taking delivery of a 2024 SX190, with only 9 hours, and a three year warranty. The Marina owner took me out, before I bought it, to let me see what the boat was like. I had a Four Winns 20 footer, and, yes, the Yamaha handles very differently. It handle a mild chop quite well, and going across our wake was acceptable.
The noise level surprised me: difficult to hear from the passenger. Funny: the stereo was okay. It was suggested that I use the boat, for a while, and practice the handling, before I purchase The Cobra fins. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
Going up in size was not in the equation. A lot of money; two engines; a larger boat lift; more fuel used; much more insurance premium; larger vehicle for towing (if necessary). I guess that if you are on The Great Lakes, or going out, onto the ocean, then a 19 footer is not sensible, nor safe, BUT, is a 21 footer any more safe? I would be thinking 24 feet or more, and that would really take the price up.
ANYONE WITH INFORMATION ABOUT THE SX190 OR AR190; I WOULD APPRECIATE INFORMATION.
