Whats the general train of thought on taking the weight off the trailer wheels over winter storage.
Doing some looking around, its not something alot of folks do. I know noone in my family that does it, and we have quite a few boats n campers n what not.

This is my first winter with the yamaha, always had some other boats and never took the load off the trailer in winter.

When I can, I do jack my trailer to keep the tiredly off the ground. When I couldnt, I just make sure the tires are properly inflated and moved it as soon as spring allowed without I'll effect.

My boat has been in my trailer for 10.5 years straight with no relief. I don't see any good doing this for a few months.

Protecting your rubber tires from the sun is key.

Do it if you can, if you can't don't worry about it. (kinda like everyone has already said)

It might help make your tires last a little longer, but I would worry too much about it, just don't hit the highway doing 70 mph right after pulling it from storage. Let them warm up a bit just in case there are flat spots after storage. Also inspect them a bit after pulling from storage just to make sure they look ok after sitting for that long, etc.

O man Murf....when you get around to launching that thing you're going to LOVE IT......they're great boats !!!

Never have I done this while I have had a boat but my Grandfather stored a boat for 10 years straight not moving it once on jacks and I also have that boat today with those 15+ year old tires still on and they are fine so I guess it does help but I really don't know that a short winter stint will hurt them too bad as I have not lifted that same boat in the five years I have had it and the tires are still ok. Probably time to consider replacing them though as they are starting to show crack but they are at least 15 years old lol.
