This guy is flying down this river

I think you probably watched that video for the first minute and rushed to judgment? Seems like those boats are purpose built for racing. Looks like a legit sport boat - maybe calm down next time and try a google?
@anmut ..... fastest boat I have personally driven had 3 X 1300HP Cobras. I was the wheel, friends were throttles and supercharger boost. I rarely rush to judgement in any form as that can be painful. Any idiot with money can buy a superfast boat and a couple of helmets and pretend they are racers. These guys and their google/youtube followers often don't know $hit about boat handling, speed or the effects of aerodynamics or hydrodynamics - they just shoot their mouths off thinking they do. My former neighbour owned the fastest recorded boat at the Lake Of The Ozarks Shoot-Out. Bill Tomlinson "My Way" 224 MPH after dual GPS sanctioned runs. When we were a lot younger we used to race each other the odd time early Saturday mornings when no one was on a particular stretch of the river and where it was wide and long. Now that he is a multi millionaire he is in the big leagues. With all of his training and the best equipment and fellow racing partners available he still had a near fatal accident a couple of years ago. I had sold my river front house and moved to a waterfront condo and saw his accident. I went down to the boat launch and saw the incredible damage to his multi million dollar boat. He was pretty shaken and he is a very calm and careful guy. Attached is a picture I took of one of his versions of "My Way" (I may have posted this one before on this forum - sorry, can't remember) fueling-up below my condo as part of the St. Lawrence Poker Runs Of America. I repeat again - many of the weekend-wallies going fast don't know $hit about driving a boat at speed - and that is dangerous for everyone else. Many google/youtube followers don't have a clue how fast events unfold at 100MPH in a boat - $hit for brains morons who think what they see is cool and try to copy qualified racers and kill other people. Ask me how I really feel !
